Product Labeling Process Flowchart

The following information has been prepared to assist manufacturers of mercury-added products in complying with the law. The flow chart below is designed to walk manufacturers through the labeling process from determining whether or not a product is required to be labeled through completion of a Certified Labeling Plan.

Nothing further is required for Vermont. However, other northeast states may have requirements which do apply. Visit the IMERC Web site for more info.
 
Is the mercury-added product(s) manufactured by your company subject to Vermont's Labeling Law?  
 
 
 
     

Submit a written request for alternative product labeling.
 
Can you label your product(s) and package(s) in accordance with the standard labeling requirements?  
 
 
 
 
Complete & submit a Certified Labeling Plan to VT DEC.  
     
     
VT DEC reviews Certified Labeling Plan to ensure compliance with Vermont Law.      
     
VT DEC notifies manufacturer of Certified Labeling Plan's compliance with Vermont Law.      
     
     
Manufacturer implements labeling.
