This reach is incised due to historic straightening and recently widened during T.S. Irene. Moderate scour along the banks during the storm removed lower benches resulting in a departure from B to F. Bars are rebuilding within the widened channel and aggradation of coarse material may slowly restore floodplain access. We assessed this reach as Stage III due to ongoing aggradation and recent widening, and we did not observe any indication of active incision processes.
