7.5 Channel Adjustment Processes Narrative
The segment is historically incised, likely due to straightening of the channel within the naturally narrow valley. The channel widened during T.S. Irene and lower floodplain benches were scoured away. Currently the channel is aggrading sediment and indicating some planform adjustment. Continued aggradation may restore lower benches and return the channel to B-type, however it will remain in Stage II due to incision.
