7.5 Channel Adjustment Processes Narrative
T5.06 was extremely active during T.S. Irene and the July 2014 flood as it widened significantly causing multiple large mass failures, as well as consistent scour and erosion within the reach. The material from the erosion and mass failures remains in the channel as large depositional bars. This material allowed limited sections of the reach to regain floodplain access exhibiting C-type channel geometry and adjust planform. However, the majority of the reach did not have floodplain access and remained F-type and widening. This reach is labeled as stage III due to the over-widened stream channel and consistent scour and erosion from T.S. Irene
