This segment shares the river valley with Smokeshire Rd, but still maintains access to flood benches. During T.S. Irene the low benches were scoured away as the channel widened and then filled in with cobble and gravel. After working through these flood deposits the floodplain benches have been reformed. This segment suggests a channel evolution stage of IV because of the frequent bank scour and the multitude of bars created from the flood material.
