Comments:
This reach has a high degree of corridor encroachment on the left bank due to residential development along Cold River Road. The stream encroachment has led to channel management activiites such as dredging, armoring, and berming. The channel is incised from its floodplain however is still a C channel with some floodplain access during the largest events (although tends towards an F or B channel for the last several hundred feet). The channel incision and management has led to the loss of riffle-pool structure and much of the habitat value of the reach. The right corridor of the reach is forested and removal of at least one berm on the right side may be a beneficial project.
