Comments:
Braided system. Flow exits this segment in some locations and drains into Unnamed trib 3, but flow also continues down into wetland. In other words, there appears to be areas where at flood flows the stream crosses the drainage divide to access the Unnamed trib 3, potentially changing the confluence points between the streams. Valley width measured from valley wall to valley wall and not from valley wall to center of drainage line between Ace Brook and Unnamed trib 3. 2015 ASSESSMENT NOTES: In 2012, a channel avulsion occurred on the Unnamed Tributary that caused the flow from the tributary to enter Ace Brook within R45S3.1S1.01-B. The additional flow now entering Ace Brook has resulted in a deepening of the stream channel at the cross section, as evidenced by the comparison of the 2011 and 2015 cross sections. The aforementioned changes in R45S3.1S1.01-B resulted in it being in fair geomorphic condition in 2015. However, the segment was in good habitat condition at this time due to abundant pools with good cover.
