Comments:
Lower gradient than upper segments. It is recommened to determine the meander width ratio and the wavelength ratio to help assess the stability of the reach. This was not done as part of Phase 1. 2015 ASSESSMENT NOTES: The 2015 cross section was very similar in dimensions to the 2011 cross section. In 2015, more steep riffles were observed in the field than in 2011, which suggests that aggradation has continued to form the streambed. As bars have continued to build, small flood chutes have formed on them. Between 2011 and 2015, a mass failure occurred along the right valley wall toward the top of the segment. This was likely caused by a large debris jam that created planform adjustment in this area. Other observed features remained very similar between 2011 and 2015. Similar to 2011, geomorphic condition of R48-A was fair in 2015, and habitat condition was good.
