Comments:
The upstream end of this segment is a very short bedrock gorge with two grade controls. It was lumped into the segment due to its short length. Then the stream is more riffle-pool over all with some short sections of step-pool features. It becomes somewhat plane-bed just upstream of the confluence with Pinnacle Brook, but due to its short length, it was included in this segment. Channel is naturally entrenched, therefore entrenchment less than 1.4 under degredation step 7.1 was ignored.
Phase 2 channel width was used to determine phase 2 confinement type.
Two cross sections were measured (one on 8/14/10 and one on 6/22/10). The two cross sections are similar with the exception of entrenchment. The first cross section showed the stream type was on the cut-off between "F" and "B". Based on the the second cross section, a "B" existing and reference stream type was assigned.
