Comments:
Segment located on upstream end of a "finger" of glacial Lake Hitchcock that roughly encompassed all of reach T1.01, underlain by lake gravels. This segment includes several runs of ledge grade controls, a rarity along much of Gilead Brook and likely a factor in precluding equipment access in this area post-Irene. Historically scoured to bedrock, with multiple terraces visible on both sides but particularly wide ones on river left; channel now functioning in a vastly reduced floodplain.
