Comments:
Railroad effectively cuts valley nearly in half, and disconnected oxbows (both wetlands and areas converted to ag fields) are visible behind the tracks in several locations. Small terrace off right bank indicates recent incision (Irene); RTER at x-section is only 72 ft off RB and was used to calculate IR of 2.1. Further incision could result in STD to F-Type stream. Dam/waterfalls at downstream end of reach (Church St. bridge) is only grade control to restrict this incision, and accounts for most of the slope in this reach. Post-Irene scour pools were quite deep in several areas and often just DS of steep faces of mid-channel bars and braided areas at sediment drop-outs - fine materials and not very stable, will likely 'wash out' quickly.
