Comments:
A major channel avulsion was observed mid-segment. A huge depositional area was present upstream and through the avulsed area. Steep riffles were observed towards the top of the segment, a large headcut was present at the bottom of the avulsion where the new channel quickly dropped back to the original channel bottom elevation. This headcut is not likely to advance rapidly up the avulsed channel due to the large size of the bed material.
