Comments:
An E5 Ripple-dune system flowing through agricultural land downstream of the Mead Falls in Rutland to where the flow changes upstream of the dam in Proctor. The reach has excellent floodplain access. Great silver maples line much of the banks. Removal of riparian vegetation as well as extensive historic channel straightening have impacted this reach. The reach is exhibiting evidence of planform adjustment, minor widening, and aggradation. Maintaining hydrologic connectivity with the old oxbows, increasing buffer width, and preventing floodplain encroachment would be important projects in this reach. Note: Unconsolidated silt present in bed and banks.
