Comments:
Very steep, bedrock-controlled segment with an alluvial fan at the base of the reach; sediment overtopped Rte. 107 during Irene and left a deposit nearly 8 ft deep near the confluence with the White mainstem. Stream was likely on a delta bar at the edge of glacial Lake Hitchcock as well and is deeply cut into its valley; multiple mass failures occurred on valley walls but one house is perched on the top of a valley wall that held during Irene. Channel widening during Irene with ongoing planform adjustments following.
