Comments Slight human-caused change in valley width, historically, by road which is now abandoned. Enough to cause change in stream type (narrow to Semi-confined), but not significant enough to change confinement status (unconfined) or reference stream type. Two occurrences of channel-spanning bedrock. Several occurences of lateral grade control by bedrock along RB. Occasional step/pool bedform. A few mass failure sites where channel impinges on RB or LB valley wall. Two four-wheeler fords. Horse pasture along LB corridor near downstream end of reach. RB & LB gullies terminate at valley wall, not at Flower Brook channel. All are delivering fine gravel sediments to Flower Brook valley and to channel during higher flows. Flow in tributaries with gullies is ephemeral (dry on assessment date).DifferentStep5.aspx Comments

AdjustmentNarrativeThe reach has departed to F due to historic incision. Due to extreme deposition and signs of active widening we assessed the reach as Stage III. Aggradation has caused a bedform departure to plane bed due to pool and riffle filling. Active PF adjustm and aggrad resulting from u/s and in-reach sources of sediment. Slight degree of hist incis may have resulted from hist encroachment along LB by old road and/or flood events. KU, 1/15/08: corrected sensitivity from "VH" to "High".DifferentStep7.aspx7.5Channel Adjustment Processes Narrative
