7.3 Comments Downstream seg A, ~1225 ft, Ph2 E4 riffle-pool, ~1.2%slope, may be a reference E subreach (and possible alluvial fan), but difficult to tell. High proportion of cobbles indicates substrates more conducive to C riffle-pool formation in this segment (T3S1.01A), and upstream portion of this reach (T3S1.01B, ~1523 ft) is Cb cobble. Historic topos from 1925 indicate possible diversion of the next tributary upstream (above jct of Horseshoe Circle and Carpenter Rd), away from a palustrine wetland that appears on VT significant wetland inventory maps, into this stream. Sediments currently available in the channel support classification of entire reach as likely C reference. Valley side slopes variable; step 3.4 entries indicate "average" throughout reach.
