Assessments

Assessments based on habitat indexes developed by EPA’s National Lake Assessment program.

Habitat Comparisons

Comparison of the average habitat characteristics of sites around LITTLE (WELLS) with the average habitat characteritics at undeveloped and developed sites at other lakes in the state.

Disturbances

Disturbance components that make up the Lakeshore Disturbance score. ‘1.0’ indicates disturbance occurs in the immediate shoreline plot. ‘0.5’ indicates the disturbance occurs in an area proximal to, but not within, the immediate shoreline plot.

Comments: Inlet 1 too deep to sample sediment depth. Inlet 2 was sampled where it crosses Rt. 30, upstream of the lake. Sample was taken upstream of the ditch that is seen in the 2 photos. Inlet 3 water samples and hydrolab could not be sampled: tried to sample where crosses road but could not find.
NOTE: clearly virtually all of the wtaer in Little Lake comes from St. Catherine; other inlets relatively insignificant.
