Assessments

Assessments based on habitat indexes developed by EPA’s National Lake Assessment program.

Habitat Comparisons

Comparison of the average habitat characteristics of sites around BUCK with the average habitat characteritics at undeveloped and developed sites at other lakes in the state.

Disturbances

Disturbance components that make up the Lakeshore Disturbance score. ‘1.0’ indicates disturbance occurs in the immediate shoreline plot. ‘0.5’ indicates the disturbance occurs in an area proximal to, but not within, the immediate shoreline plot.

Water Quality

Comments: Only 1 inlet. It empties out into big wetland complex that beavers have impounded. Found a little flow at the N end of the wetland that was just enough to sample. Needed to portage canoe to get to it. Did not have pole to measure depth of sediment, so used paddle.

Comments Outlet just a trickle going through boulders under boulders, did find enough water to sample. Estimating width all total, water leaking out various places from beaver dam, adds up to 1m wide or so.
