Corrective Action Taken: The chlorination rate was increased, and a follow up e. coli test was performed on 09 Apr. That result was 240 MPN/100 ml, which was still over the 235 public notification level. Another sample taken on 16 Apr had a result of 21 MPN/100 ml, allowing this notification to be closed.
Waterbody Impacted: Pherrins River / Clyde River
Description Of Incident: Recent rains and spring runoff reduced detention time in the chlorine contact tank, hindering efforts to achieve adequate disinfection. An e. coli test conducted on 02 Apr showed a result of 1100 MPN/100 ml, triggering public notification.
