Corrective Action Taken: Operators found we still had power to the VFD so were able to switch them to remote and run the station in hand. To prevent surging the next station down the line we had our Vac truck pump out one load from the station. Champlain Associates helped troubleshoot why we had no power to our LC150 pump station controls and local alarms. They found we had lost one leg of power to the breaker that powers the LC150 and alarms. They were able to temporarily jump the breaker to provide power to the LC150 so the station can run in auto mode and all alarm functionality is back. We posted signs of a sewer overflow along the bank of Sunderland Brook, and we are spreading lime along the grass channel where the wastewater flowed down to the brook.
Waterbody Impacted: Sunderland Brook
Description Of Incident: Loss of Communication from Susie Wilson Pump Station to SCADA alarm at 3:08 PM on 2/6. The operator on-call examined SCADA trends including the station this one feeds and trends appear normal, however, the operator did not physically go out and check the station. We experience communication loss with Susie Wilson Pump station several times a year and it is normally due to a drop in cell service temporarily. When the operator conducted Friday pump station rounds arriving on site at 8:45 AM on 2/7 they discovered the station overflowing at the wetwell manhole cover. Upon further examination, they found no power to the station LC150 controls which allows the station to run in auto as well as activating local audible and visual alarms.
