Corrective Action Taken: In an effort to reduce overflows from the Pine St CSO, the City has disconnected some upstream catch basins from the sewer system and is developing a long term plan to eliminate this CSO.
Waterbody Impacted: Pine Street Barge Canal
Description Of Incident: High flows caused by an intense rain storm on 6/18/2018 resulted in the discharge of a combination of sewage and stormwater from the CSO located on Pine St. This CSO is intended to protect the sewer system, to prevent overflows from other parts of the sewer system, and to prevent backups into homes and other buildings. The sewage component is estimated to be approximately 1,200 gallons.
