Excessive rain, infiltration, and subsequent flooding overloaded the pump stations capacity to transfer the volume. The wet well and valve pit filled to 95% capacity, until a nearby manhole cover began overflowing. This overflow prevented the wet well and valve pits from topping. The station and its appurtenances were never submerged.
