Corrective actions that have been taken include running equipment by hand i.e influent control valves and aeration blowers to equalize flow and settling in the basins until flows return to a non-storm level. We also brought in a third party electrician to help trouble shoot and restore functionality to decanter #1

High flows caused by an intense rain storm on 7/11/23 resulted in the discharge of partially treated disinfected effluent. Our SBR plant went into (storm mode) which limits the biological contact time that raw waste has in the SBRs. We also experienced a decanter malfunction (storm related) on SBR #1 which caused it to stay in the upright position for a period of time, partial treated effluent was able to overflow the decanter while we worked to correct the issue. All discharges passed through ultraviolet disinfection before reaching the Poultney River.
