An intense rain storm during evening of July 29, 2021 resulted in a rapid rise of rivers and groundwater, causing flash flooding throughout town. This caused surcharging and overflow of a privately owned sewer pump station on Richville Road. There were no mechanical failures. The pumps just could not keep up with influent rush of flood and groundwater.
