Heavy rains on 2/24/-2/25/16 and possibly an ice jam caused the Lamoille River to flood the Hardwick Wastewater Treatment Facility influent wet well, chlorine contact chamber, and basement of the control building. The influent pumps in the basement were flooded and stopped pumping influent to the lagoons. The influent then flowed from the wet well through an emergency bypass pipe to the outlet end of the chlorine contact chamber and to the river. The volume estimate is estimated based on the total influent flow on 2/24/2016.
