Overnight 8/23-8/24 we had significant rainfall that caused some sediment erosion. We swept most of it up from our outdoor water feature before starting it but some must have remained out of site. By 2:45 mud had blocked our sock filters and treated water overflows from the basin at the bottom of our cascade. The water made its way into a storm drain approximately 30' away and discharged into the Connecticut River backwater @ Blood Brook. I estimate as much as 500 gallons of treated water made it to the storm drain. The water sample I took immediately after tested at 7.7PH and .92 total chlorine.
