Flow was temporarily reduced to a level that was previously providing adequate treatment and then increased by a smaller rate than was first attempted. Chlorination rate was also increased, and this combination brought the e. coli measurement below the public notification level. An increase in the effluent pumping rate to draw down the lagoons for construction work reduced the detention time in the chlorine contact tank. The chlorine residual of .93 mg/l proved inadequate for effective disinfection, with an e. coli test result of 248.1 MPN/100mL.
Public notification is required for results above 235.
