An increase in post-deluge chlorination rates was and is being balanced against a falling effluent flow rate so as not to overwhelm effluent de-chlorination. Also, Mother Nature has been sternly admonished to cease and desist from any further inundations.

An e. coli sample taken on 01Aug24 yielded a result of 248.1 MPN/100 ml. A total of 7.66
inches of rain had fallen in the preceding two days resulting in an effluent flow of .269 MGD at the time of sampling. That is 1.8 times our design flow of .150 MGD, so insufficient detention time in the chlorine contact tank is believed to be the cause of the high e. coli count. A follow up sample taken on 05Aug24 yield a result of 21 MPN/100 ml.
