The Town immediately began pumping out of the upstream manhole and the overflow ceased within 20 minutes of discovery. The blockage was cleared using a line jet and the line was placed back in service.

Grease caused a line blockage that caused a manhole to overflow. This manhole is not located within a road right-of-way. The manhole has been overflowing for at least 8 days. The Town responded to a citizen complaint of sewer smell and discovered the overflow.
