Corrective Action Taken:

Immediately, and within minutes of the problem being noticed, operators began the process of shutting off flow to the leaking force main and isolating it. All flow was then diverted to the other serviceable force main without delay. Once the leak had been stopped, all other necessary operational procedures and related contingency plans were followed and completed.

Description Of Incident:
|
Incident was likely caused by high flows moving through Wastewater Force Main during a heavy rain event. Nature of the wastewater flowing through the piping at that time consisted mainly of storm water. This ratio normally being 90 percent storm water and approximately 10 percent domestic wastewater.
