Description Of Incident:
|
This leak was on the failing 1972 force main that connects River Street pump station with the treatment plant. The City has moved aggressively to replace this pipe following a leak and repair last year, and the City hopes to have the replacement in service by the end of November. Early Tuesday morning another leak occurred near the one repaired last year. Upon discovery the force main was taken offline. No untreated sewage reached receiving waters during this event. The failed section of pipe was repaired around 1:00 PM today. When the main was pressurized to test the repair another leak opened up at East Creek on the pump station side. That leak was discovered after about 30 minutes when the main failed to pressurize.
