Staff immediately lowered the tubing in the tank and verified disinfection had returned to normal. Staff will work with the contractor on Friday to create a better solution on the temporary system to ensure this does not happen again.

On the evening of 3/4/21, staff were checking disinfection and found little residual. Staff immediately splashed the tank with disinfectant and then investigated the disinfection system. Staff found the suction tubing was not a the bottom of the tank. The current disinfection system is a temporary system set up by a contractor while under construction. At the time of posting more info was not available as to how the tubing had been raise off the bottom of the tank. If the failure happened right after the last residual at 1:45pm, the amount would be approximately 120,0000 gallons.
