During the event, the disinfection dose was increased. The flow of treated combined sewer overflow stopped before staff were able to confirm that the increased dose was effective.

This discharge was treated, partially disinfected combine sewer overflow that is treated and disinfected at the Main WWTF.
Burlington Main plant had a CSO treatment event due to a large amount of rain in a short amount of time. During monitoring and testing of the event, a disinfectant test showed a need to increase disinfection. Staff made changes but were unable to confirm appropriate levels of disinfected before the flow from the CSO treatment stopped. Testing is in process. Those results will be available the evening of Wednesday, July 29th.
