In an effort to reduce overflows from the Pine St. CSO, the city has disconnected some upstream stormwater catch basins from the sewer system and is developing a long term plan to eliminate this CSO.

High flows caused by an intense rain storm on 6/19/2017 resulted in the discharge of a combination of sewage and stormwater from the CSO located on Pine Street. This CSO is intended to protect the sewer system, to prevent overflows from other parts of the sewer system and to prevent backups into homes and other buildings. We estimate the volume of sewage released to be approximately 3,150 gallons.
