DPW staff set up a bypass pump to divert flow from the overflowing sewer to a parallel sewer when the level in the parallel sewer had adequately decreased. This prevented an additional 130 (2 hours 10 minutes) minutes or 5460 gallons of untreated sewage from being released.

Description Of Incident:

High flows caused by rain storms caused a combination of stormwater and untreated sewage to surcharge out of the top of the manhole.
