After the failed test was read, chlorine rate was adjusted and a new sample of the effluent was taken to check the E.coli level to see if the test happened to just be tainted. The sample from 9/11/24 resulted in a colony count 42.0 at 0.76 mg/L residual chlorine, which is within our permit limits of 77 colonies/100 mL.
Chlorine pump is being set up to keep a target of 0.75 mg/L or greater to ensure continued treatment. As well as flocculant pumps being turned up in rate to help solids settle easier due to the high water temperature and low flow rates.

Description Of Incident:
|
Due to increase in retention time due to low flow, chlorine residual was being used up by the bacteria in water as well as the chlorine pumps were flowing at a very slow rate during this time period due to the low effluent discharge rate.
This resulted in a failed E.coli test that was sampled on Tuesday 9/10 with a test result of 2419.6 colony count.
