The UV intensity did increase from 1.2 up to 6.0 over the next 15 minutes which should be effective in reducing the e.coli count. In addition, we will take an extra monthly post UV e.coli sample next week to assure the UV intensity is having an effective kill rate.

The post-UV sample was taken just after the UV trough had been cleaned and the lights had just been turned back on. The post UV e. coli grab sample was collected just as the flow was coming back through the UV trough and effluent weir when the UV light intensity had not fully re-vamped as was at an intensity of 1.2 vs the 6-14 range that it comes up to after 10-15 minutes of being turned back on. This resulted in an e.coli result of 920 MPN/100mL received from the lab this afternoon.
