On 03/11/2021 City of South Burlington Stormwater staff discovered that a stormwater pond behind the Overlook condos had failed and washed away the dirt covering a gravity line and a force main line from a pumpstation. While inspecting the area this morning in preparation to cover the lines a small crack was noticed in the gravity line that was not observed on 03/11/2021 and wastewater was observed "dripping" out. A contractor was brought in and the line repaired. It is difficult to estimate when the crack occurred and volume but it is estimated that it was very recent and of low volume due to the crack being small and plugged up with material from inside the pipe and the minimal amount of material on the ground below the pipe. The discharge may not have reached Waters of the State but may have reached Bartlett Brook.
